Professional Profile
Nakato Thuraiyya Kawooya serves as Head of Knowledge & Learning at UGA CARES, where she leads strategic initiatives in education, capacity building, and community development. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies with specialization in Accounting and Finance at Islamic University in Uganda Females Campus, with expected completion in 2026.
Thuraiyya brings extensive leadership experience from her tenure in multiple executive positions at university level, including Guild President, Vice Guild President, and President of Management Studies at IUIU Female Campus. Her background combines strong financial acumen with proven capabilities in organizational management, stakeholder coordination, and youth empowerment programs. She completed a professional internship as Assistant Procurement Officer at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives, where she gained practical experience in public sector operations and administrative management.
Her professional focus centers on creating sustainable learning opportunities that drive measurable community impact, with particular emphasis on youth leadership development, financial literacy education, and capacity building for underserved populations.
