Our History

Founded in 2019 by Ugandan philanthropists, Care Convention Network Uganda initially operated as an annual charitable event bringing together communities in celebration of giving. Building on years of successful Convention execution, the organization is now transitioning into a year-round coordinating platform that strengthens Uganda’s entire philanthropy ecosystem. This evolution is guided by principles of local ownership, transparent accountability, and multi-year commitment to partners.

The network operates on the conviction that Uganda’s development challenges require coordinated effort across sectors, with each participant contributing distinct strengths. Trusts and foundations provide financial resources and institutional expertise. Corporate partners offer volunteer capacity, in-kind resources, and market connections. Community organizations deliver grassroots credibility and direct service implementation. Uganda Cares Convention Network integrates these diverse contributions into unified action that creates measurable community impact.
